About Our Company

What makes Attic Construction the company I should choose to move forward with?

High standards, systems to ensure quality of work; including management and quality control, as well as a high level of professionalism. We take time-stamped pictures of your attic/crawl space so you can have references of our work upon inspection and completion. Customer service is a number ONE priority for us…and we actually do care about our clients!

Where can I get references for the work you have done?

What days do you accept appointments?

We do in home inspections Sunday through Friday. Our offices are open on Saturdays but we do not perform any inspections this day. Click here to request an attic inspection appointment.

Are you a pest control company?

We provide an alternative solution for getting rid of rodents which is called rodent proofing. By sealing up all entry points into the structure we ensure no rodents can continue to enter the home. Please see our rodent proofing page for more information.

How long have you been in business?

Attic Construction was formed in 2011 right here in San Diego, CA. We are an accredited Better Business Bureau company and are licensed and insured. Please see our About Us page for more information about our company.

Are you licensed and insured?

We are licensed with both a specialty insulation license (C-2) and also a general contractor’s B license. Check out our license page on the CSLB (California State License Board). We are insured and comply with all bonds and workers compensation requirements.

Technical Questions

Can insulation help keep my house from getting warm/cold?

Absolutely! Insulation will help keep comfortable temperatures throughout the year while reducing energy costs by up to 30%… You might think that it is better to have too much insulation than too little, but excessive insulation may actually harm the overall performance of your home’s HVAC system. Over-insulation restricts airflow through the ducts and reduces your home’s ventilation capability. This in turn gives rise to a host of issues, such as moisture problems, and harmful mold growth. What should I do if a rodent gets stuck in the attic? Do I need to call a pest control company first?

Typically, rodents are inside the attic only during the late night and early morning. When one of our technicians is inspecting the attic, they typically run out due to the human activity. This is the best time to close any holes as the rodents will be sealed out of the structure. In the rare case that a rodent is stuck in the attic after it was sealed, we will return to pick it up. This is similar to using traps, however, the difference with rodent proofing is that you are securing a long-term solution.

What types of insulation do you use?

We use the brand Owens Corning. It comes in the form of fiber glass blown-in or fiberglass batting (rolls) insulation. We also offer cellulose insulation. This insulation is extremely safe and has received the Energy Star Certificate. If you’re unsure what the best insulation for your home is, we’re happy to perform an inspection and provide you the best options.

Do you clean air ducts?

We do repair and replace air ducts — however, we DO NOT recommend a simple cleaning if your ducts have been contaminated by rodents. This situation requires an in-depth procedure to ensure the contamination does not blow into your home.

Do you service commercial buildings?

Do I need a ladder/any other equipment for an inspection?

All our technicians have ladders along with all the other equipment needed for the Inspection.

Can I be in the house while the work is being performed?

Yes, you can be in the house while the work is being performed. You may choose to leave if you like. The Crew Leader can give you a call prior to finishing the work if you choose to leave.

How long will the appointment take?

The appointment can take anywhere from 30 minutes to 2 hours depending on how big the attic is, how hard it is to maneuver inside, and if you have any questions to ask the technician. We try to be as prompt yet thorough as possible.

What is your turnaround time if I choose to move forward?

Typically within a few days we can schedule to perform any type of work, depending on our work load and the season.
